Here at The Young Women’s Movement we’re all about celebrating the voices of young women. This International Women’s Day we’re launching a campaign to help us raise money to deliver our third edition of the Status of Young Women in Scotland, and we need your help.

We launched our first Status of Young Women in Scotland report in 2015 with The Lines Between, an Edinburgh based, women-led, accessible social research company. Together we created an original piece of research that highlighted the realities of life for young women in Scotland. The Status of Young Women in Scotland report presents a diverse snapshot of the issues affecting Scotland’s young women today, and we can’t wait to get started on 2018.

Our 2016 Status report provided a safe space for young women to comment on their day-to-day experiences under the theme of ‘hidden conversations’. In this report we shined a light on issues experienced by groups of young women in Scotland whose voices are so often unheard.

We are currently at the planning stages of our 2018 edition. We have a wee bit of money already but we need your help so that we can hit our target of £8,000.

Every single penny we raise will go directly into funding this unique piece of research. We have £2,500 in the bank at the moment, and we need to raise £5,500 to pay The Lines Between, design the report and launch it digitally. Put it this way, if every one of our Twitter followers (hiya pals ❤) donated £1 we would even have enough leftover to print a few!

We care about young women’s voices and we want to ensure that these voices are heard, respected and celebrated. Donate now and help us to make this happen, we are so grateful for any amount big or small.

Donate to us through BT MyDonate

From all of us at The Young Women’s Movement THANK YOU!
