Dynamic Youth Award
Ten girls from the ‘Dudettes group’ (age 12 – 14) have started a ‘Dynamic Youth Award,’ which is a peer assessed award recognising the contributions and achievements of young people, marked by a certificate upon completion.
So far, as part of the award, the girls have had an evening looking at careers, and have recently completed ‘Heart Start,’ a course facilitated by the British Heart Foundation teaching life saving skills, including the recovery position and CPR. After the Heart Start course, one of the girls said “It was good...I can now save a life!”
The Dynamic Youth Awards encourage and support youth participation and the process encourages young people to take increasing responsibility for their own future.
The girls are really enjoying the course so far.
