Breakfast Club
YWCA Kirkcaldy, Fife Community Food Project and Fife Council Community Based Adult Learning have been working in partnership to provide training for young mothers on how to choose and prepare economical, nutritious meals. Those completing the course also receive a Food Hygiene Certificate.
Sessions provide an opportunity for women to socialise, get to know one another and share ideas, which they have said they value greatly. Evaluation of the project has shown that the majority of women make more healthy choices related to diet and cooking as a result of the course.
Nearly 30 women have completed the programme and we expect at least 30 more will be part of Breakfast Club this year.
