Training for Youth Workers on Abuse in Young People’s Relationships
YWCA Scotland is working with the Zero Tolerance Trust to develop and deliver a series of training events aimed at Youth Workers and other practitioners who work with young people in the community. The aim of the project is to increase awareness of the issue of abuse and sexual exploitation in young people’s relationships and equip workers with skills and knowledge to prevent and address this problem in their practice.
Training sessions will take place in May and June 2011 in Ayr, Borders, Dundee, Edinburgh, Fife and West Lothian and involve more than 70 youth work practitioners. Follow up evaluation will be conducted to assess the impact of training on their work with young people and identify examples of good practice for prevention and early intervention of relationship abuse through youth work.
