YWCA SCOTLAND APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE

 YWCA Scotland is pleased to announce the arrival of its new Chief Executive Gill Martin.

Announcing the appointment, Kirsten Verth , Chair of the Board, said, "The appointment of Gill Martin as YWCA Scotland Chief Executive marks a new phase in our development. We are delighted to have someone with Gill 's skills, expertise and enthusiasm. We are confident that she will be a driving force as we develop our work with young women in Scotland and take YWCA Scotland to new successes."

Gill Martin takes up her appointment having worked as Operations Director for YWCA Scotland for the past 4 years and has previously worked in senior management roles with Age Concern and Breast Cancer Care.

In taking up her new position Gill Martin said, I am excited at the prospect of continuing and developing the work of YWCA Scotland. I see my role and challenge as ensuring that YWCA Scotland develops its position as a leader and innovator in providing services to girls and young women. I want to see young women developing their leadership potential and making positive changes in their lives, communities and the world they live in."

YWCA SCOTLAND enables girls and young women aged 9 to 29, to develop their full potential and participate at all levels of society. We deliver a range of services for girls and young women through our local centres in Livingston, Kirkcaldy, Coupar Angus, Moray and Edinburgh (2). Nationally we work to establish ourselves as a key contributor to policy debate and provide a platform for young women in Scotland to have their voices heard.
